Hollywood actor Tom Cruise is sold on this one alright. And we are not talking about Katie Holmes. It's called Scientology. And for the past three years this new faith has silently taken root in India with its headquarters in New Delhi. And the man behind it is Rajeev Jain.

He says, "It will be of immense help to a city which moves at a furious speed." Scientology is characterised by the belief that a person can clear him/herself of past painful experiences through spiritual fulfilment.

Jain, who is the president of Youth For Human Rights International (YHRI) India Chapter of the Church of Scientology, started this venture three years ago. He is assisted in his efforts by his teenage daughter, Natasha. In fact, the 16-year-old has been lecturing the Police Force of the city on human rights. Explaining the connection between Scientology and human rights, she says, "It is a part of Scientology."

Jain insists that Scientology is a non-intrusive faith. "I am an orthodox Jain. But Scientology is not a religion. It is a spiritual philosophy which helps in self development," he says. Apparently several celebrities of the country have embraced this faith but they are still not wearing this new faith on their sleeves like Cruise.
